Please read all the logistics info for the Hebron Standard TFA Tournament on Nov. 4 and 5.

This email is going out to all coaches and judges attending this weekend. We’re looking forward to seeing you during the tournament. Please make sure everyone knows the following information. Sorry it’s a lot to read, but it is vital everyone understands the logistics.

ARRIVAL TIMES: For the Friday folks, please be in the building by 4:40 pm. Our school gets out at 3:35 pm and there is heavy traffic at that time. If you arrive between 2:10 and 3:35, our admin will be holding you in the cafeteria. If you have a transportation issue in which you have to be here before 2:10, our lunches will still be going on and we will have to make special arrangements for you so please contact me individually about that ASAP. Friday night our arena has been rented out for an author event which could impact parking. If busses need to stay parked during competition, please have them park across Plano Parkway in the gravel lot where there is extra space.

ARRIVAL LOCATION AND SECURITY: We are using the back of the school cafeteria door as our entrance and exit point during the tournament. The other entrances will not be available. We are not allowed to prop open our exterior doors. Doing so would cause an investigation by the district. In case of any safety concerns, each classroom has emergency plans posted by the inside of the door with fire evacuation routes. In the event of any lockdown type of situation, classrooms can be locked by anyone from the inside. We will have our own students monitoring the halls, along with admin and security.

LOCATIONS: The library/media center will be the tournament HQ with a table at the front for check-in and help. Hospitality food will be at the back of the library with mostly grab-and-go meals. The tab room will be connected to the library; Dave Huston is leading our tab room team. The extemp draw will be in the cafeteria annex. Concessions will be next to the cafeteria.

JUDGES: Students are not allowed to enter rooms without a judge present. Make sure competitors know not to write on the Smartboards in the classroom; they are not writing surfaces. If a round has an issue, please send someone to the library to let them know the room number and what the issue is. Judges need to bring their own charged device to access Tabroom.com to fill out ballots. We need judges to click the button to start the round as early as possible, as soon as they see it. Since phone service inside school buildings can be spotty, judges need to not only check their phones for texts about round info, but also refresh their Tabroom dashboard every 20 minutes to check for rounds. If wifi signal is weak, usually stepping out into the hall for a minute will get a connection. Our competition wifi account for guest access is:
Username: dtournament
Password: 9347
First Name: Debate
Last Name: Tournament
