Wichita East Blue Ace Invitational
2022 — Wichita, KS/US
Novice Caselist Restrictions
These restrictions strictly apply to Nov-Caselist. They do not apply to the Nov-Champ or JV divisions. If your novices are interested in running an argument outside of the caselist, they are welcome to enter one of those divisions. If you are unable to attend Friday, you are welcome to enter the Open (KDC) division.
Novice Caselist will be adhering to the NDCA packet. Evidence outside of the novice packet is not allowed. Evidence can be rehighlighted, reunderlined and retagged. 1ACs can be modified by adding introductions, shifting cards into different contentions or using evidence from the extensions. No fully "Frankensteined" advantages (e.g. link turned DAs as 1AC advantages).
We will accept either the NDCA's original/vague plantext in the Cyber A5 affirmative or the Washburn Rural "fixed" version of the plantext announced at KSCA. This option below is the only acceptable plantext change, all other plantexts must remain as they are in the packet:
The United States federal government should substantially increase its security cooperation with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization to include cyberattacks that cause damage and harm as an attack against all members under Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty.
Negative caselist limits will also be strictly followed, these include any argument from the Case Neg file, either of the two DAs, either counterplan, the prepared T violations and the Liberal Militarism K. No original or outside research is permitted.
Caselist violation issues will be decided by the TD (Mitchell). If a team is found to have read evidence or positions outside the packet, a forfeit will be assessed on tabroom. Repeated violations could result in the removal of your teams from the tournament, without entry fees refunded. Please, don't do this.
