Registration for all events is open. All entries will be placed automatically on a wait list.  Around Labor Day weekend entries will be accepted, fairly allocating the available slots. Additional entries will be accepted off the waitlist as they become available. We expect slots to fill up quickly so plan to register early to ensure entry into the tournament.  

Tournament check-in and other procedures will be posted at a later date.

Student and Entry Eligibility

The tournament is open to students in 9-12 grades officially representing the schools they attend. Each student entering the tournament must represent such student's currently enrolled high school.  In Policy Debate, Public Forum Debate and Duo Interpretation, a valid entry is comprised of two student team members both of whom are currently enrolled at the same high school.  Each school must enter all of its students under one school entry and the account must be the official school account which has the adult moderator listed as the contact. The listed contact must be an adult, i.e., over 21 years of age. No independent or student-created entries or anonymous team accounts will be accepted. 

For the duration of a school’s participation at the tournament, each school must have at least one adult moderator (over the age of 21 years of age) who will be responsible to address any issues related to the school's entries. The tournament may require supporting documentation verifying all of these items.

 Tournament Schedule

Policy, Public Forum and Lincoln-Douglas Debates will start Friday afternoon.  Public Forum and Lincoln-Douglas Debates will be double- flighted.  Congress and speech events will be held Saturday and Sunday.    We will publish a full schedule at a later date.

Fee Assessment

All accepted entries will be set by 9:00 pm NY time on October 9, and schools with accepted entries are assessed final fees at that time.  If necessary, there will be an earlier deadline for Congress in order to set and balance chambers. Any entry drops after this date will not reduce the assessed final fees, even if a school drops all of its entries. Thereafter, entries accepted off the waitlist cannot be dropped without an assessment. 

Schools may continue to make online student name changes, without penalty, until Friday morning.  However, given the size of the tournament, we encourage all schools to finalize changes prior to Friday.  Judges for Policy, Public Forum and Lincoln-Douglas debates will have an earlier deadline as strikes and preferences are opened a few days prior to Friday.

Payment and Invoices

Final fees (including all assessments) must be paid in full before the commencement of the tournament.  Except as noted above, any school failing to pay the assessed fees in full before the deadline will not be permitted to compete.  Final fees are payable regardless of attendance (drops or otherwise) at the tournament.  School fees in arrears from previous years will be noted on the invoices and must be paid in full prior to acceptance of entries into the tournament.

Only checks and credit cards will be accepted.  NO CASH.  Schools may pay via credit card.
