DEBATE JUDGE "drop in" OFFICE HOURS (*ALL* debate judges welcome)
(Please review instructional material, below, before office hours - takes ~ half hour)
When: 8:30 to 9:30 PM on Wednesday, March 16.
Link: Here. If it doesn't work - come back to this page and copy the link again (in case we changed it).
INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIAL - PLEASE REVIEW BEFORE COMING TO OFFICE HOURS
- If you do not already have an in Tabroom.com, please create one as soon as possible. Instructions are here, and it takes around five minutes.
- Take a look at the following videos:
- Introduction to judging Public Forum Debate (~ 16 minutes) - here.
- How to enter a ballot on Tabroom.com (~ 6 minutes) - here. Note - We made this video for judges participating in online tournaments. Using Tabroom is almost the same at an in-person tournament. Of course, you won't click on the video icon to get to a video conferencing room. Instead, you will go to the classroom as soon as you get your assignment and have clicked the START button.
- How to take notes ("flow") a debate round (~9 minutes) - here.
- Optional - If you would like to see an example of a debate round, you can watch this video (~ 40 minutes) - here.
If you have questions, please contact Joshua Cohen (jcohen1964@gmail.com). Please tell me what school you are from and what type of debate you are judging (if you know) - either Public Forum (two students on each side) or Lincoln Douglas (one student on each side).
