COVID Protocol

VACCINATION

All in person participants (debaters, judges, coaches, observers, and chaperones) are expected to be fully vaccinated for COVID (based on the definition at the time of the tournament). Any participants who cannot be vaccinated must have a negative COVID test result within two days of the start of competition.

All programs/ entries must submit a letter from the coach or adult in charge attesting that their in person participants meet these standards.

MASKING

Masking is required at all times on the Laney campus, including while speaking. Laney also requires outdoor masking, but makes and exception for eating and drinking, which should be done outdoors.

We strongly encourage participants to use the most effective masks (N95s, KN95s, and K94s) or double mask, using both surgical and cloth masks.

HEALTH SCREENING

Laney College requires ALL VISITORS to use their health screening app prior to coming onto the campus each day. Information about downloading and using the app is here.

CURRENT OAKLAND VACCINE RULES

At this time, proof of vaccination is required for visiting most restaurants and businesses. The current policy is linked here.
