Judging Requirements

Judge Quotas:

One (1) LD judge for every two (2) LD entries

One (1) PFD judge for every two (2) PFD teams

One (1) Policy judge for each Policy Debate team

One (1) Speech judge for every four (4) entries in all Speech events combined

One (1) Congress judge if a school has Congress entries (must not have a conflict in Congress)

Coaches: Do NOT count yourself in your quota as we must be able to use you where needed! Judges MUST have prior judging experience and should be cross-trained (LD and PFD judges will be cross-assigned as needed). Remember to list conflicts (by student first and last name) in the “Judge Notes” space on Tabroom. All judges are required to attend until the completion of the last round in case they are needed for panels.

Electronic Ballots: All events except Congress will use Tabroom for electronic ballots. All judges must have an active Tabroom account linked to their registration and must provide a connected device (laptop computer or tablet) on Tournament Day. The host school will have a guest Wi-Fi network for judges’ use.
