Events and Event Specific Information
The following events will be offered at The Lamar Texan Classic 2021:
· Asynchronous IEs: Dramatic Interp; Humorous Interp; Informative Speaking; Original Oratory; Poetry; Prose; Program of Oral Interp
· Synchronous (live) IEs: Domestic Extemp, Foreign Extemp, Novice Extemp
· Debate: Congressional Debate; Cross-Examination Debate; Lincoln-Douglas Debate (Novice and Championship); Public Forum Debate (Novice and Championship); Worlds School Debate
The resolutions for debate events can be found on the NSDA website at www.speechanddebate.org. The following topics will be debated:
· Cross-Examination Debate will use the current 2021-2022 NSDA CX topic
Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially increase its protection of water resources in the United States.
· Lincoln-Douglas Debate (both divisions) will use the 2022 January/February LD NSDA Topic
Resolved: The appropriation of outer space by private entities is unjust.
· Public Forum Debate (both divisions) will use the 2022 January PF NSDA Topic
Resolved: The United States federal government should legalize all illicit drugs.
· Worlds School Debate will debate the following motions form the approved motions from TFA:
o Round 1: Impromptu motion (announced one hour before round start)
o Round 2: This House would provide long-term rent forgiveness for recently unemployed persons.
o Round 3: This House believes that the European Union should accelerate the process of granting full membership rights to the Balkan states (Albania, Bosnia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia).
o Semis: Impromptu motion (announced one hour before round start)
o Finals: This House would ban consumer-focused advertising for prescription drugs.

· Congressional Debate will use the following legislation from the TFA Spring 2022 Legislative docket:
o Prelims: 16-20
o Finals: 25-30
· Congressional Debate will utilize Direct Questioning.
