Policy Debate Details

Schedule

All teams will debate 4 preliminary rounds:

Friday 3:30 / 5:15 / 7:15

Saturday 8:00

Then, all 3-1 or better will break to a double elimination bracket. Elimination rounds will start at 10:00 and continue on 2 hour intervals until the tournament concludes. See the NSDA Unified Manual for full details.

(The worst possible case is that the last round would begin at 8:00pm on Saturday, but this is highly unlikely to occur in reality.)

Judge Quota

All debates throughout the weekend will be judged by a panel of 3.

During PRELIMINARY rounds (Friday afternoon and Saturday 8am), you must have at least the following numbers of judges:

1 entry = 3 judges
2 entries = 4 judges
3 entries = 5 judges
4 entries = 6 judges

During ELIMINATION rounds (most of Saturday), you must have at least 1 judge per entry.
