We will offer most UIL events

Ready Writing-Each contestant must supply his or her own dictionary and thesaurus.  Computers and printers will be available for use-but we are not responsible for any issues that may arise.

Writing Event Sponsors must be available for grading after the contests.


Deadlines:

  • Entry Deadline: Wednesday, February 9th at 4:00 pm
  • Drop Deadline: Wednesday, February 9th at 4:00 pm. Drops after this time will result in loss of entry fees or billing.
  • Debate: Drops on the day of tournament will result in a $25 fee. No shows will be considered a drop, and your school will be billed. 

Fees:

·        Non-speaking events are $8 per entry.

·      Computer Applications-if you have an entry in this event, you must have a grader for it.

      Computer Science is the written test only.

·       Please make your check payable to Miller Grove ISD.  You may either mail your check or bring it with you on the day of the event.  If mailing the check, please send to the following address:

Third Party Materials will be used for all Academic contests.

Texas Math and Science-Number Sense, Calculator Applications, Mathematics, and Science

HEXCO-Ready Writing, Accounting, Social Studies, and Literary Criticism

ASW-Spelling

Independent Journalism writer(District Level)-Journalism contests.


Entries:

Multiple-We have devised our own schedule based on the UIL conflict pattern. Please check times carefully. Contest times cannot be altered to accommodate contestants entered in more than one event.

 

Medals/Ribbons will be awarded to the top six winners in each event.  The top scorer in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics will receive medals.   Medals will be awarded to first, and second place teams (3 medals per team).  Plaques will be presented to the two schools who earn the most points.

 All medals will be placed in a bag with your school’s name on it and it can be picked up after your last contest ends.

An awesome hospitality room for sponsors, graders, and judges will be provided.  

A concession stand will be available for students. There will be items sold individually and $6.00 meals. 

All students will be held in the new gym when not competing.
