Judges

Judging Obligation

In order for the tournament to run smoothly and on-time, all schools must meet the judging requirements (1 judge for every student team registered).  Teams not meeting the requirement may not be allowed to participate due to judge shortages. 

Judges are expected to be available for ALL 3 rounds of competition. High school students are not eligible to judge middle school debates. Coaches are expected to judge if the obligation has not been met.  

Training

Registered judges will receive a confirmation email along with attached videos and judging guides to help prepare for the tournament.  A morning training will be offered the day of the tournament from 9:00am-9:45am prior to Round 1. 

Materials 

Due to limited resources, we are in need of pens/pencils and timing devices. Please bring a pen/pencil and a timing device such as a cell phone or stopwatch to keep time during the rounds. Thank you!
