HS Workshop Schedule

DUDA HS Workshop Preliminary Schedule - Saturday, Oct 23, 2021

Students will choose one of four tracks:

A = World Schools Debate

B = Novice Policy Debate (first year in the activity)

C = JV Policy Debate (at least one year of prior debate experience) 

D = Varsity Policy Debate (this is the most experienced teams - either two years of experience, or a history of success in the JV division)

8:30-9:15 am - Arrival/Check-in/Breakfast

9:15 - 10:30 am - Session 1

Option A - WS Demo Round

Option B - Intro to the Format + Water Topic

Option C/D - Intro to the Water Topic 

10:30 - 10:45 am - Break/Move to Session 2

10:45 am - 12:00 pm - Session 2

Option A - WS Debate - Prepared Motions/Case Writing

Option B/C/D - Policy Demo Debate

12:00 - 12:45 pm - Lunch - Cafeteria

12:45 - 2:00  - Session 3

Option A - WS Debate - Impromptu Prep 

Option B - Using the Core Files to Construct a Case

Option C - Intro to Original Research

Option D - Advanced Research Strategies 

2:00 - 2:30 - Closing
