Behavioral Expectations

Behavioral Expectations:

Please share this information with your students, judges, and any other members of your entourage.

We believe that tournaments should be exciting, fun and positive experiences for everyone. Because of this, we expect everyone to act appropriately at all times. Students, judges, coaches and parents who do not act in a manner that is appropriate for an educational setting involving high school and middle school students will be asked to leave the tournament and not return. Some examples of behaviors that we view as detrimental to the tournament environment include, but are not limited to:

            Sexual/Gender Harassment

            Sexual/Gender Discrimination

            Bullying

Yelling or overly confrontational behavior towards others

            Religious Harassment or Discrimination

            Ethnic/Racial Harassment or Discrimination

If you see or experience behavior that you believe to be harassing or discriminatory please contact Dr. Walts or a member of the tab room.

Security and Chaperone:

1.      An adult employee for each school must be in attendance at all times. This person must be a paid employee of the school.

2.      No smoking (including “vaping”) or tobacco is allowed anywhere inside the gates of the Hockaday campus, or on the virtual platform.

3.      Students may not enter rooms without a judge present at the risk of disqualification.

4.      Any vandalism to Hockaday property will result in immediate squad disqualification, and criminal charges may be pressed.  We have experienced some problems in the past.  Please be respectful to our campus.

5.      All competitors, visitors, judges, and coaches must wear identification at all times while on campus. Failure to do so will result in that person being asked to leave campus. Hockaday is a boarding school, so security is very vigilant. Please do not test the patience of the security team.

6. Judges should refrain from using alcohol, tobacco, or vaping while using the virtual platform.
