Alabama State

2021 — NSDA Campus, AL/US

Big Questions Partnership

This year, through partnership with the National Speech and Debate Association and the John Templeton Foundation, we plan to offer a Big Questions event at the State Tournament. The NSDA will give each of the top 4 competitors' schools $250. Also, the State champion of the Big Questions event will qualify to NSDA Nationals.

In Addition, the NSDA is providing needing schools with a technology grant. Here is the info:

Provide technology support for NSDA member schools with at least one (1) Big Questions student competitor at the Alabama Speech & Debate Association State Tournament. Both the school and the student must be NSDA members at the time of the technology support application. Schools may receive no more than $100 per Big Questions competitor. Interested schools must request support prior to the tournament through a NSDA online application process. The total financial support from this item may not exceed $2,000. If the requests exceed $2,000, the NSDA will ask the Alabama Speech & Debate Association leadership to assist in deciding the funding allocation. The NSDA will alert schools of the funding assistance they may expect. The NSDA will provide funding to the school, speech & debate team, booster club, or non-profit after the necessary post Alabama Speech & Debate Association State Tournament reporting forms have been completed.
