DID THE TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE CHANGE?

Yes. We will now have practice rounds (Round Zero) on Friday after school (one for varsity students and one for novice students) and then preliminary and elimination rounds on Saturday.

DID THE NUMBER OF JUDGES SCHOOLS NEED TO PROVIDE CHANGE?

Yes. You now need to provide one judge for every two competitors. The change was made because debate events will no longer be flighted.

WHAT TYPES OF DEBATE TOPICS WILL BE USED?

The topic areas for each round appear in an Information Page.

DO YOU HAVE ADVICE ON TECHNOLOGY USE?

Yes. The Synchronous Technology Procedures and Best Practices page contains recommendations pulled from NSDA, NIETOC, and TOC tournament documents. It has been and will be updated as we learn more about competing in a virtual world.
