**SPECIAL NOTE ON TOPICS**

We will use the November Public Forum Debate topic:

Resolved: The United States should require universal background checks for all gun sales and transfers of ownership.

 

We will use the November-December LD Debate topic:

Resolved: Wealthy nations have an obligation to provide development assistance to other nations.

You are cordially invited to attend the 12th Annual Schaumburg High School Saxon Invitational. The Schaumburg High School Debate Team will host this tournament on Saturday, October 28, 2017.  We look forward to seeing you!

TOURNAMENT WEBSITE

We will use Tabroom.com for registration, pairings, and judging. 

All judges must bring an electronic device to connect to the Wi-Fi and enter their ballots.

DIVISIONS

Lincoln-Douglas AND Public Forum

Varsity             Open Division

Junior Varsity   Less than two years of Debate experience

Novice             Less than one year of Debate experience

FEES                                                                               

$20 per debater in LD

$20 per team in PF

JUDGING

Electronic Devices: All judges must bring an electronic device that they will use to submit feedback, decisions, and speaker points.

Requirements:

One full judge is required for every two debaters in LD.

One full judge is required for every two teams in PF.

New this year! Responsible Varsity Debaters in their Senior year of high school may judge in the Novice Division. (They cannot also compete in the tournament.)

TROPHIES 

Awards will be given to the top 5 places of each division in each event

ENTRY LIMITS 

4 Debaters or Teams per Division

We will create a wait-list and begin adding debaters over the limit after registration closes.
