Dear Forensics Director:

Please remember that PFD costs will be added to your tabroom amount at registration.
The Paris Chapter of the National Speech and Debate Association will be hosting The 48th Annual Krider Invitational Speech Tournament at Henry County High School on Saturday, Nov. 4th. We cordially invite the participation of your school in this event.
Once again, the Rotary International Club of Paris will be extending its generosity to sponsor the tournament. We take special pride in the unique awards we feature. The Rotary Club will present the first place winner in each category with a $100 scholarship to the college of his or her choice. We also award trophies to the top 6 finishers in each event. In addition, sweepstakes trophies will be awarded to the top 3 schools.
Competition will be offered this year in the following categories: Dramatic Interp., Duo Interp., Extemporaneous Speaking, Humorous Interp., Impromptu Speaking, Informative Speaking, Original Oratory, Poetry, Program Oral Interp., Prose, Storytelling, and Public Forum Debate. Each school may send 6 entries in each event. Doubling is allowed except for debaters. Material from one source may not be entered by that student in a second event. THSSDL rules will be followed for all individual events. Debate will follow NSDA rules and use the Nov/Dec PFD topic.
Entries must register no later than Monday, Oct. 30. Both the entry fee and an equal drop/add fee will be charged after 3:00 pm on Wednesday, Nov. 1. The entry fee will be $7.00 per student per event entered. In addition, we ask that each school furnish 1 qualified judge for every 6 IE entries or major portion thereof, and 1 judge for every 2 public forum teams. Please do not enter debate if you have no one who will judge it. If your school is unable to fulfill its judging requirements, a fee of $25 for each missing judge will be charged.
We will be running the tournament on tabroom.com this year, so please register on that website. The tournament is listed on tabroom.com as the Krider Invitational under Kentucky since Tennessee does not have that option. (Go to tabroom.com, click “Circuits” at the top and find “KY” on the right, click "Kentucky", then find Krider Invitational)
