CFL Novice Speech Gunn

We are pleased to invite you:

to the CFL Novice IE Tournament

to be held on October 15th, 2017

We will be offering the following events: 

       

(HI, DI, Duo, TI, OI, OPP, Expos, Imp, OO, OA, FX, NX)   

          

     Students may enter in two events. If we are oversubscribed we will implement the league waitlist process.

 Please provide 1 ADULT judge for every 4 entries, making sure to indicate gender and experience level in the notes section of the judge screen as we will be assigning judges via computer.   This will be a large tournament, so please enter your students and judges as soon as possible, and no later than Thursday, October 12th at 10:00pm!

 

Registration:

7:00 – 7:15 a.m. PLEASE NOTE-IF YOU ARRIVE AFTER 7:15a.m. YOUR ENTRIES WILL BE DROPPED, NO EXCEPTIONS.

Judges' Instructions:

7:30 a.m.

Round 1 begins

8:00 a.m.

Round 2 begins

11:00 a.m.

Lunch service

12:00 – 2:00 p.m.

Round 3 begins

1:00 p.m.

Semi-Finals begin

Entry Procedure

Registration should be completed via Tabroom.

The registration deadline is 10:00pm on Thursday October 12th, 2017.

Entry Limits
At this time we do not know the exact entry limits so please keep that in mind and please submit your entries early!

Please carefully review our bylaws for eligibility of students:

A. Students participating in CFL tournaments shall meet the academic requirements for co-curricular participation established by their schools and/or school districts. Students must be enrolled in the school they represent.

B. Speech,

1. All of the following requirements must be met in order for a student to be entered in the Novice division:

a. The student is in her/his first Academic Year of competition (including debate or congress)

b. The student did not attend camp for speech events

c. The student has not competed in more than 3 middle school tournaments

d. The student has not, while a middle school student, competed in a high school tournament.

2. Upon entering his/her second Academic Year of competition or upon completion of a camp for speech events, a student is automatically promoted to the Varsity division.

3. In Duo, if one person is a Novice and the other Varsity, they must compete in Varsity.

$10.00 per single entry and $20.00 per duo team

Invoices are directly available online on the tabroom account used to register entries.

Drops after the drop deadline will be assessed a fee of $50 per entry. 

Additions after the drop deadline will be assessed a late fee of $60.

 

Judges

Please provide one ADULT judge for every four entries, or fraction thereof. This judge quota applies to all rounds, regardless of how many entries advance to semi-finals or finals. Thus, a school with five entries must provide two ADULT judges for all four rounds.

 AM Judges - 7:15am - 1:00pm
  PM Judges - 12:00pm - 7:00pm
