Welcome to the BAUDL Middle School League Championship! 

We are very excited to host our first league championship with many more to come. The host for this year is Frick Impact Academy (2845 64th Ave, Oakland, CA 94605).

There are a couple of important changes for this tournament:

1.     The schedule is slightly different. Please see below, but also on the handbills (cards we gave you to students/parents). We will have a shorter workshop & round 1 is before lunch. The day will not be complete until 5PM.

2.     The Championship will be decided by a winner take all FINAL round. The top two teams, based on prelim scores, will debate in a final round in front of a panel of three judges. A team must win at least 2 of 3 judges to be the tournament champion. Both Novice and Varsity will have a final round. It is custom to let other students, parents, and coaches watch the final round in the audience. Please speak with your students about the Final Round.

3.     Remind parents: Even though this is a championship tournament, watching a debate is still based entirely on the comfort level of all four debaters in the room. Student comfort and confidence is a primary value during the prelims (debates 1-3).
