IE Students can TRIPLE enter on Saturday. However, students cannot enter both IX & USX, and students participating in either Extemp will be limited to only TWO IEs.

Congress Legislation

Please see the link on the right for more information.

Judging

If a school brings adult judges, please enter judges under THEIR name, not as the name of their child.

One judge CAN fill both a Congress and an IE obligation.

Entry Limits

All events will be capped at 10 entries per school in order to provide all schools with an opportunity to enter.

Cover Sheets

Scripts & Cover Sheets are due to Vernon Brock or Doug Miller by Sat., Feb.25. They can be turned in at the OCSL Debate qualifier at Fairmont, or can be delivered (email submissions are NOT allowed) to Fairmont Prep – address above – c/o Doug Miller.

Format

All IEs will be guaranteed 3 preliminary rounds. Events with 18 entries or more will advance the top 14 to a semifinal round, followed by a final round of 7 competitors. Events with fewer than 18 entries will break directly to a final round of 7. Events that break directly to a final round will contest that final during the scheduled semifinal round. Events with enough entries to have a semifinal will contest their final rounds concurrently at the scheduled time. Determination of breaks and final placings will be cumulative – taking into account all ranks/points earned throughout the tournament – with each judge counting as an individual score in semis & finals. Each prelim round will have 1 judge, each semifinal & final round will have 3 judges.

Eligibility

In order to compete in any CHSSA State Qualifying tournament, schools must be current with both CHSSA State Dues & OCSL League dues.

Principal's Designation Letter

Before any school is permitted to compete in any OCSL tournament, they must have a signed copy of the Principal's Designation Letter on file with the League.  This document confirms who is officially designated to represent each school as the official sponsor with the League, and who is authorized to represent the school as an official chaperone at League tournaments.  Please have your principal fill out and sign the letter, which can be downloaded from the front page of each OCSL tournament website, and return it to the league no later than registration of first League tournament your school participates in this year.

League Dues Invoice

League Dues are $30.00 per school per year.  These are expected to be paid at or before a school's first OCSL tournament of the year.  An invoice specifically for league dues is located on the front page of each OCSL tournament website.  These dues only need to be paid once per year, not for each tournament.
