Sunshine State Showdown at the University of Florida

2016 — Gainesville, FL/US

September 13, 2016

The University of Florida Speech and Debate Team will host the fourth annual Sunshine State Showdown intercollegiate debate tournament on Saturday, October 1st.

All debate rounds will be based upon the 2016-2017 CEDA/NDT debate resolution. We will use the 9-3-6 format, with 10 minutes of prep time per team. If numbers are adequate, there will be both a novice and a JV division. We will have four total rounds of competition.

All participants are expected to follow all behavioral rules/guidelines of CEDA, ADA, the University of Florida, and the State of Florida. Breakfast and lunch will be provided on Saturday.  To defray some of the costs of food and awards, the entry/registration fee will be determined as soon as we have an idea of numbers. Traditionally we have set the entry fee at $20 per person. To enter please visit our tabroom site: https://www.tabroom.com/index/tourn/index.mhtml?tourn_id=5962

I will serve as tournament director, and will have a representative from University of Miami assisting with tab.
