Topics:

*The United States should adopt a universal basic income.

California school districts should significantly expand the number of charter schools.

On balance, smartphones do more harm than good.

*Debated by all teams on both prop and opp during rounds 1 & 2.  

Prep Time: 

Per new MSPDP guidelines, electronic devices (i.e tablets and laptops) are now allowed during prep time.  Cases do not need to be printed.  HOWEVER, debaters should not access the internet during prep time. 

Schedule:

Registration: 8:00-8:30

Opening Remarks: 8:45

Round 1: 9:00

Round 2: 10:15

Lunch: 11:30

Round 3: 12:30

Round 4: 2:00

Awards: 3:30

Departure: 4:00

Entries:

Each school may register 7 teams. You may also register additional waitlist teams and will be notified on Thursday, January 28^th if space allows.

Registration deadline is JANUARY 27^TH AT 3PM.

Food:

Lunch will be served at a price of $8 per person.   2 coaches per team are free.

PLEASE NOTE: In order to prevent major over ordering, each coach will be responsible for paying for the number of lunches they indicate during online registration.  Cash or check payable to Mirman is accepted.
