Welcome to the 2025 West Virginia District Tournament!

Your team is invited to attend the district qualifier for NSDA. This is an online tournament. There will not be physical awards but teams/ students who participate may win bids to participate in the national tournament for the NSDA.

You may double enter for IE (not debate nor extemp) but please complete the proper NSDA forms and submit them to Isabella Droginske.

Registration will open on 12/31/25 at 8 AM

Registration will close on 1/24/2026 at 8 PM

Fees frozen at 1/24/2026 at 8 PM

Judging due at 1/24/2026 at 8 PM

Public Forum

NSDA rules and time limits will be used in all speech and debate events.We will have three prelim rounds in speech competitions and in debate. Debate will have semis and finals. Speech events will have a final round.

Tournament Schedule:

8am-All schools must check-in with Tabroom that they are here and accounted for. Any drops must be communicated to 3047803963. Extemp must report to the “prep room” on NSDA campus by no later than 8 AM.

8:30am-Speech/ Debate Round 1

9:30am-Speech/ Debate Round 2

10:30am- Speech/ Debate Round 3

12:00pm-Debate SEMI/ Speech Final

1:20 pm: Debate Final Round

2:45 Awards Announced

Registration Fees:

The registration fee will be $2 per student to cover the cost of NSDA Campus.

Checks are to be made payable to West Virginia Speech and Debate Association.

Judges:

1 per 5 in speech, or fraction thereof

1 per 2 in debate, or fraction thereof

All judges are expected to stay for the entire tournament and present for all rounds. If any judge leaves the tournament early, without providing a replacement, his/her school will be disqualified from competition. Judges may be moved from one event to another if needed.

Important Reminders for District Qualifiers

• Submit your entries and judges by January 24, 2026. Events with less than 2 different schools and 4 competitors will be dropped.

• Sign your team consent form under the “NSDA Forms” Tab and submit to Tab.
