Hebron and The Colony HS TFA Swing

2026 — The Colony, TX/US

All events will be in-person at The Colony HS

Make Payments to: Hawk Debate Booster Club. W9 is available upon request.

Hebron HS and The Colony HS are happy to invite you to register for our TFA swing tournament on Jan. 23-24, 2026.

We prefer judges over you having to pay judge fees; please provide as many judges as possible.

Those interested in being hired to judge, contact Jeremy Fee (FEEJ@LISD.net).

Tentative schedule PDF will be in the side links. Instead of "Section A" and "Section B" divisions, we have HHS Swing rounds and TCHS Swing rounds. For cross-entries, students do so at their own risk. If they are late to rounds, and do not check in with the judge, they will be ranked last and drop fees may apply.

Wifi login and password will be sent out before the tournament and posted in the library.

TFA events will follow the TFA rules, available at: https://texasforensicassociation.com/

Prose and Poetry will follow UIL rules for time (7 minutes) and expectations, but the categories are student-choice each round. UIL interp info is available at:https://www.uiltexas.org/speech/oral-interp

Debate events will break brackets and use the current NSDA varsity topics for January 2026, found at:https://www.speechanddebate.org/topics/

We will not be hosting World Schools Debate.

For Congress the Docket will be from the TFA Spring Docket, Items:
Round 1 (Prelims): [TBD 1 month before the tournament]
Round 2 (Finals or, if needed, Semis): [TBD 1 month before the tournament]
Round 3 (if needed): [TBD 1 month before the tournament]
The docket will be available at the TFA website.

We will only panel semi-finals if we have enough judges. We will panel finals.

As per TFA rules, we will allow students from Hebron and The Colony to compete in the tournament and in elimination rounds.

We are not planning to have an awards assembly. We will allow coaches to sign for trophies and pick them up once results are available.

Questions or concerns? Don't be shy. Contact us anytime.

Sincerely,

Jeremy Fee from Hebron HS
and Wendy Curran-Meyer from The Colony HS
