Puget Sound High School Tournament

2026 — Tacoma, WA/US

International Teams Can Enter and Judge Training

I have received some questions about necessary judge training. To clarify our expectation is that all programs bring well qualified and conscientious judges whose primary focus is on developing student learning. To that end, we request that judges should, at minimum, complete the NSDA training and accreditation via tabroom.com located at https://www.speechanddebate.org/learn/judge-accreditation/. All judges should complete "Level 1: Intro to Impartial Judging" and through Level 1 speech, although Level 2 specifics is preferred. All judges judging any debate format should complete through Level 2 accreditation for that event, e.g. Public Forum, LD, Congress, and Worlds School debate. Tabroom will place judges qualified in one event to judge other events as necessary to administer the tournament. If this raises any additional questions please email Derek directly.

The Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association which oversees forensics, is allowing international entries on a trial basis for 2026. If you would like to enter an international entry please feel free to do so and also please email Derek at dbuescher@pugetsound.edu with the school, the coach's name and contact information. There is an extra form that we need to process the week prior to the tournament.
