Dear UIL Academic Coordinators,

James W. Martin High School is excited about hosting our annual

Lamp of Knowledge UIL Academic Meet on Saturday, January 17, 2026.

There will be only one division of academic competition and entries will be limited due to expected size; therefore, entries will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. When the maximum number of entries for a limited contest is reached, that contest is filled. You can make substitutions on the day of the tournament. Please email or text changes immediately when you have them to jrothwell@aisd.net or 682-867-8613.

The meet will follow UIL rules and offer all events with the exception of Debate. Awards will be given to the top six winners in each event. Individual awards and team awards will be announced throughout the day after the official results have been verified and recorded for each contest. Test papers and other contest materials may be taken with you when you leave.

Schools MUST provide graders for any event that a student is entered into. Please indicate on the entry form the names of the persons who will be grading. A grading fee of $50 will be assessed for all missing graders.

Refreshments for sponsors and graders will be provided in our generous hospitality room. A list of local restaurants will be available to students throughout the tournament.
