Event Information

EVENTS
a. Section A: Extemporaneous Speaking, Oral Interp, Impromptu Speaking (max 2 events)
b. Section B: Congressional Debate (may also enter Section A)
d. Section C: Policy, LD, Worlds, Public Forum (may not cross-enter in any other event)
e. Students cross-entered in EX should report to Extemp Draw first.

ENTRIES
a. Make all entries using this website.
b. Students competing in person must be accompanied by an adult.
c. Entries must represent a school or organization or be escorted by a parent.

TOPICS & RULES
a. Texas Forensic Association IQT tabulation rules will serve as a guide, and we may reasonably adjust for the purposes of this tournament.
b. Lincoln-Douglas (LD) debate will use the varsity NSDA Topic & time limits.
c. Cross-Examination (LD) debate will use the NSDA Topic & time limits.
d. Public Forum (PF) debate will use the NSDA Topic & time limits.
e. Congress (CD): The docket will come from this semester's TFA Legislation. Items 8, 10, 14, 17, 22, 2 (in order).
g. World Schools (WSD) will use ONLY impromptu motions.
h. Impromptu (IMP) will offer 7 minutes total to draw a topic, prep, and speak. Topics will be one word.
i. Extemporaneous Speaking (EX) will have 35 minutes to draw and prep a topic, a 7 minute time limit, and 30 seconds grace. Students may use a single 3x5 note card, and judges may choose to reward students who do not use notes.
j. Oral Interpretation (OI) will have 7 minutes total to speak, with 30 seconds grace. Events may include HI/DI, PR/PO, INFO/OO, Declamation, etc. There are NO other restrictions or stipulations in this event. Performers may choose book events, memorized pieces, etc. Judges are encouraged to evaluate the overall effect of the performance.

JUDGING
a. Panels will be used in elimination rounds whenever possible.
b. High School debaters with at least one semester of experience may judge.
