DUDA Irma Rangel & TAG TFA Swing Invitation
Dear Colleagues,
We are excited to welcome you to the 4th TFA Qualifier, hosted collaboratively by Dallas ISD schools and the Dallas Urban Debate Alliance (DUDA).
The School for the Talented and Gifted (TAG), established in West Dallas in 1982, moved to the Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Magnet Center in 1995. The Irma Lerma Rangel Young Women’s Leadership School, founded in 2004, was the first public school for young women in Texas. Both schools consistently rank among the best in the state and nation.
The Dallas Urban Debate Alliance, the second-largest Urban Debate League in the country, is proud to partner with these exceptional schools to present a hybrid tournament featuring select debate and speech events November 13–15.
Event Schedule and Locations:

Irma Rangel will host Lincoln-Douglas Debate and World Schools Debate with two online preliminary rounds Thursday evening and in-person rounds Saturday. Rangel will also offer asynchronous Informative Speaking, Program Oral Interpretation, and Original Oratory.

TAG will host Lincoln-Douglas Debate and World Schools Debate with two online preliminary rounds Friday evening and in-person rounds Saturday. Policy Debate will have two online preliminary roundsFriday evening, and continue in-person Saturday. TAG will also offer asynchronous Informative Speaking, Program Oral Interpretation, and Original Oratory.
All asynchronous events will be judged by members of the Bradley University Speech Team.

It IS the intention of both Irma Rangel and TAG to compete in these tournaments. Debate brackets will NOT be broken.
Important note on fees: PAYMENT OR PROOF OF PAYMENT MUST BE MADE/PROVIDED IN ORDER FOR STUDENTS TO COMPETE. DROPS MADE AFTER OUR DEADLINE FORFEIT ALL FEES AND PAYMENT WILL BE EXPECTED.
