4 - Chaperones, Fees, Judges, & Paperwork
Chaperones: Every school must have a school sanctioned adult on campus all day. We may ask them to judge or help at the tournament but a school without a school sanctioned adult cannot register. A teacher will not have to get further confirmation but any parent or non-teaching adult must send an email CC’ing their principal and myself orangecountycaspeechleague@gmail.com
with the following language. “I can confirm (Name) is allowed to chaperone my school and our said team at the OCSL Fall and this is confirmed by my principal or head of school. I can also confirm they assume all liability for said students at the tournament and this adult will be on campus all day until 5pm at the latest.”
Fees- School fee is $20. We will charge $8 per individual person for entry fees. For example, if you are in an IE or Debate format that requires one person that fee will be $8 a head. If your IE or Debate requires two persons that respective fee will be $16. We also included OCSL member dues as an added option on your invoice if you would like to pay those at this time. Checks may be payable to the OCSL see invoice for more details and we ask you to bring them to drop off to the OCSL President day of or by mail. We will also be looking into a digital option with details to come. Sadly we still do not have an online payment option yet so please bring a check and make it out to the Orange County Speech League.
Judges - In terms of judges we implore you to meet your individual requirements with student judges, parents, or coaches. We will have a limited supply of hired judges. Remember: OCSL coaches you may be asked to be room checkers for our online tournament. More details to come.
School Designation - We will be including a school designation form requirement. Please submit this via tabroom in order to participate this year. Your registration will be incomplete unless this is submitted.
