Minnetonka is pleased to be hosting our first debate tournament since the pre-pandemic era!

- Competition on the Sept/Oct Topics for Lincoln Douglas & Public Forum will be held in Novice, JV, & Varsity Divisions.

--- Lincoln Douglas Novice: "Resolved: In the United States, national service ought to be mandatory."

--- Lincoln Douglas JV/Varsity: "Resolved: In the United States criminal justice system, plea bargaining is just."

--- Public Forum: "Resolved: The United Kingdom should rejoin the European Union."

- Competition on the Nov/Dec Topics for Lincoln Douglas & Public Forum will be held in Novice & an OPEN JV/Varsity Division.

--- Lincoln Douglas: "Resolved: The United States ought to rewild substantial tracts of land."

--- Public Forum: "Resolved: The United States federal government should require technology companies to provide lawful access to encrypted communications."

- Competition will be held in Novice and JV/Varsity Congressional Debate, including a special "scenario" final for all competitors.

- Dress code? HALLOWEEN COSTUMES! Keep them school appropriate, and please refrain from wearing masks or carrying weapons.

- We will be offering a new-judge training from 8:15-8:45 AM. This is an optional session, but Minnetonka has several judges to train so we wanted to open it to you all! Content will be geared toward judges who do not have prior debate experience.
