Welcome to the 2025 Rosebowl Debate Tournament! We are excited to host you for a great day of competition. We are having a "Get Up and Go" theme again this year, so wear your most comfy clothes, sweats, pajama pants, or whatever else makes you feel cozy!
Events:
Lincoln Douglas: Resolved: The United States ought to rewild substantial tracts of land.
Public Forum: Resolved: The United States federal government should require technology companies to provide lawful access to encrypted communications.
Student Congress: Packet to be uploaded very soon.
New this year: IMPROMPTU SPEAKING! Three rounds: after debate round 3, debate round 4, and debate round 5 (before finals). All debate and congress students can participate. The winner of the impromptu speaking event will win the Brian Plunkett Creative Argument Award.
Schedule:
In-Person check in starts at 7:45 am and a quick judge meeting will take place at 8:15 am.
Round 1/Session 1 starts at 8:45 am.
Debate Schedule (subject to change if we go faster or run into issues)
Round 1: 8:45 am
Round 2: 9:45 am
Round 3: 11 am

Impromptu round 1: 12:30 pm
Round 4: 1 pm
Impromptu round 2: 2 pm
Round 5: 2:45 pm
Impromptu round 3: 3:30 pm
Finals: 4:15 pm

Session 1: 8:45-11 am (take breaks as needed)

Final Session: 2:45-4:45
We aim to be all finished by 5:30 pm because we have a musical performance in the evening.
