Tournament Schedule

The Hoover High School Speech and Debate Team proudly invites you to its Annual Ria Shah Memorial Tournament on Oct. 17-18. This year we will be offering a two-day tournament with a full menu of events including CONGRESS on Friday morning at Hoover Hall, on the Hoover campus, but not at the main building. We will also be offering Word Schools----if enough schools sign up for this event.

Topics:

Both varsity and novice LD/PF will use NSDA's September/October Resolutions.

Congress will use NSDA October docket.

Another note on Congress judges. You may register someone to judge both Congress and another category, since they are at different times. However, you must first register them in Congress first, then they will be able to be registered elsewhere (weird tabroom thing).

Here is the line up of events:

Congress in Friday starting at 9:00 AM - 2:45 PM

9:00 am - 11:30 am Session 1

1:00 pm - 3:30 pm Session 2

*In Congress, we will have 2 preliminary chambers. We will break competitors from each chamber into a Super chamber. We will provide another chamber for those that do not break to the Super for those students to get more experience.*

Friday Evening

4:30 pm - Round 1 - PF, LD, BQ

5:45 pm - Round 2 - PF, LD, BQ

6:45 pm - Dinner Break

7:15 pm - Round 3 - PF, LD, BQ

8:30 pm - Round 4 - PF, LD, BQ

Saturday

8:00 am - Round 5 - PF, LD, BQ

9:00 am - Extemp Draw

9:30 am - Round 1 - All Speech Events

10:30 am - Semis - Debate

11:30 am - Extemp Draw

12:00 pm - Round 2 - All Speech Events

1:00 pm - Extemp Draw

1:30 pm - Round 3 - All Speech Events

2:30 pm - Finals Debate

2:30 pm - Finals - IMP, OO, INF
