4th Annual Were Just Peachy Tournament
2025 — Dardanelle, AR/US
Welcome to the 4th Annual "We're Just Peachy" Tournament!
This tournament is open to 5A and Below schools in the following counties: Yell County, Logan County, Pope County, Conway County, Perry County, Johnson County.
We look forward to hosting you on Thursday 9/18 and 9/20 at Dardanelle High School.
The “We’re Just Peachy” season-opener got its name because the trophy shop accidentally misspelled the word Speech as Speach on the RVSDL nameplates during the league’s very first tournament.
Instead of getting upset or demanding replacements, everyone in the league embraced the mistake with humor. The misspelling became an inside joke about the league’s culture — welcoming, flexible, good-humored, and focused on learning rather than perfection.
The phrase “we’re just peachy” grew out of that moment and turned into a symbol of the league’s spirit:
- We don’t crumble over honest mistakes.
- We choose community over perfectionism.
- We celebrate growth, even when things aren’t polished.l
That’s why the annual opener is called the We’re Just Peachy Speech and Debate Tournament — a tradition born from a small error that became a perfect metaphor for what the River Valley League stands for.
