Welcome to the Kritikal Discussions X Beyond the Cycle Invitational! Our one-day tournament is hosted on Sunday, September 14th, with an entry fee of $15 per competitor. 100% of proceeds go towards donating menstrual products to homeless shelters in Texas.

Tournament Info

Kritikal Discussions is a one-day debate event designed to provide practice for the new season and sharpen skills while directly supporting an organization fighting period poverty.

This tournament will be held solely in Lincoln-Douglas, 1 division for all debaters. We will be using the September-October Lincoln-Douglas resolution: “Resolved: In the United States criminal justice system, plea bargaining is just.“

Quality judging will be entirely provided. Thank you to our (mostly) college volunteers.

Beyond the Cycle:

Beyond the Cycle is a student-led nonprofit organization that provides menstrual health care packages to homeless shelters in need. Through fundraising events and awareness-raising projects, we contribute bare necessities that many struggle to access.

Blasts will be approx. 30 minutes before each round.

R1: 11:00 - 12:30 PM

R2: 1:00 - 2:30 PM

R3: 3:00 - 4:30 PM

Finals: 5:00 - 6:30 PM

Tabroom and Check-in

This Zoom meeting will be where check-in occurs for everyone and will be open during the tournament times for any tournament concerns or problems that arise.
