Welcome to 2025 Running with the Bulls!

Saturday, October 25th

Coaches:

Ghouls, gals, pals and humans, Mountain View High will be hosting Running with the Bulls! Come dressed up in your best on Saturday for the pre-Halloween celebration!

Dressing up is encouraged but optional. Any coach, judge, or student wearing a costume will be entered in a costume contest Saturday.

Costume Guidelines are typical school costume rules: No masks, glitter, props, or offensive garb.

EVENTS:

Debate- Congressional Debate, Lincoln Douglas Debate, and Public Forum Debate will be offered in both Varsity/Open and Novice divisions. Worlds School Debate will be a Varsity/Open division only. There are 4 rounds of all traditional debate formats and 3 sessions of Congress. Awards will be presented based on the preliminary records.

TOPICS:

World School Debate Topics-This House would eliminate standardized testing in schools.

Competition SCHEDULE:

Saturday:

8:00 am - Round 1 PF, LD, WSD

8:30 am - Session 1, Congress (ends at 11:45 am)

10:15 am - Round 2 PF, LD, WSD

12:30 pm - Session 2, Congress (ends at 2:30 pm)

1:15 pm - Round 3 PF, LD, WSD

3:30 pm - Session 3, Congress (ends at 5:45 pm)

3:30 pm - Round 4 PF, LD, WSD

6:00 pm Awards

JUDGE REQUIREMENTS:

Debate - one judge will cover 4 debate entries (LD and PF), 2 WSD entries, and 6 Congressional Debate entries.

If judges do not show, the school will be fined or forced to drop entries to get to a covered status. The drop judge option will be $100 per missing judge.

ENTRY FEES:

Debate - Entry fees are $8 per slot for the individual events (Congressional Debate and Lincoln Douglas Debate), $12 per slot for Public Forum and $15 for Worlds School Debate.

NO SHOW OR LATE ENTRY FEES! If you have students that drop after the deadline or are added after the deadline, there is a $25 per entry nuisance fee that will be charged.

PARKING:

Friday and Saturday - There should not be any issues finding parking; please enter through the main entrance.

CONCESSIONS/FOOD:

• There will be no concessions provided for students. There are many options to walk to or utilize food delivery options.

• Judges and coaches will be served breakfast and lunch Saturday! Details will be sent out as soon as they are finalized.

• A Lounge with treats and beverages will be provided for judges and coaches.
