IMPORTANT UPDATES
KEY INFORMATION: PLEASE READ!!!
1. The event patterns have switched from the previous academic year.Please note that the patterns for this tournament are as follows:
A: Extemporaneous, Dramatic Interpretation, Duo Interpretation, Declamation, Informative, Original Advocacy
B: Lincoln Douglas, Impromptu, Humorous Interpretation, Program Oral Interpretation, Original Oratory, Original Prose and Poetry
2. Extemp prep will begin PROMPTLY at 8:30 AM. If your student is not on time, they run the risk of losing their opportunity to participate or being disqualified from the tournament. Please make sure that any and all entries in Extemporaneous Speaking are at the extemp prep room at 8:20 AM.
3. We are piloting a judge schedule system. Please make sure that judges are entered in Tabroom BY FRIDAY BEFORE THE TOURNAMENT AT 6:00 PM. OR Please inform Lea which of your entries will be dropped if you do not bring a judge. OTHERWISE, you run the risk of being fined.
Please make sure that all judges check in at registration and pick up their schedules for the day and that they turn in the folder when they leave. Please inform the judges that if they are not on time for a pre-scheduled ballot, schools bringing that judge run the risk of being fined. General Information:
This tournament offers Novice and Open divisions in all CHSSA speech events and Lincoln Douglas Debate.
There will be three alternate rounds each of Pattern A and Pattern B events. Students may be double entered, but not in events in the same pattern.
Lincoln Douglas will use the NSDA September/October resolution for Novice and Open (we do NOT use the NSDA novice topic). Extemporaneous will use mixed US and International topics.
