Dear Coaches, Judges, and Students,

On behalf of Sioux Falls Jefferson High School, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all of you for joining us at the Cavalier Kickoff Novice Speech Tournament! We are especially excited to host this Novice-only event, where the focus is on learning, growth, and building confidence as students begin their speech journey.The goal of this tournament is not only to provide a space for competition but to create an encouraging environment where students can gain experience, try new events, and learn from both their peers and judges.

• Registration/Check-In: 3:15 PM

• Round 1: 3:30 PM

• Round 2: 4:45 PM

• Round 3: 6:30 PM

(Please note: There will be no final rounds or awards for this tournament, as the emphasis is on student learning and experience.)

This tournament will be judged primarily by varsity speech students. Their role is to provide constructive, supportive feedback that will help novices grow as speakers and gain confidence in competition.
