3P National Tournament

Welcome to the 1st Annual 3P Speech National Online Tournament. The 3PNT is an entirely online IE tournament that uses high quality judges (3P Coaches and other former NFL finalists or coaches) to judge live pre-recorded performances of students, giving critical and constructive feedback to entrants. Finalists will be mailed trophies / medals and have their performance featured on 3P Speech’s social media platforms, as well as top 3 will be given scholarship money to partake in 3P Speech's Online Summer Boot Camp. 


Registration and Submission Deadline

Tournament Runtime: April 10- April 20 
Events Available: Dramatic Intepretation, Humorous Interpretation, Duo Interpretation, Prose Interpretation, Poetry Interpretation, Original Oratory

Tournament Procedures

  • **UPDATED** All entered speeches / performances must be pre-recorded (Recommended - but not mandatory - in front of an audience of two or more individuals for live-performance feel)
  • All performances must be uploaded to Youtube and submitted with entry form.
  • There will be 4 preliminary rounds
  • Tournament will break to Semi-finals (top 12) for over 30 entries, Quarter-finals (top 24) for over 50 entries in a pool, and Octafinals (top 48) for more than 100 entries in a pool.
  • Ballots will be composed electronically through Use Podium (www.usepodium.com)
  • Top 6 in each event will be posted on April 16-April 19 for judges and viewers to rank. 3 Judges will be from 3P Speech and the final ballot will be based on votes from viewers. 
  • After the tournament on April 20, students will be emailed their ballots for all rounds, finalists will be mailed their prizes, and results will be posted publicly.

Eligibility

Competitor(s) must be presently high school student. Performance literature or speech cannot have been performed in a previous school year. NSDA (formerly NFL) rules will govern all rounds. Students may enter into as many events as he or she wishes, including multiple times in the same event with a different speech or piece of literature (but still only performed this year). Duo interpretation teams must be from the same school. All entries must be full paid by registration deadline.
