The Last Invitational NIETOC

2022 — Nampa, ID/US

The 2022 Last Invitational

Hosted by Nampa High School

Friday and Saturday, February 4th and 5th

We look forward to welcoming you to the Last Invitational.  We will offer all 14 IHSAA speech events in a varsity division only on Friday.  This will be the last NIETOC opportunity to qualify in their events!  There will be 3 prelim rounds and awards presented based on final placements.

On Saturday, we will offer CX, LD, PF, and Congressional Debate in a varsity division only.  There will be 4 prelims in CX, LD, and pF and 3 sessions of Congressional Debate.  Awards will be presented based on final placements.

Fees will be set AFTER the tournament and schools will be charged per entry to cover overhead costs.  Please make every effort to pay your fees ASAP - thanks.

Please see the schedule tab on the right side of the page for dates and times.  We have added a break for dinner Friday night (judges and competitors) and a lunch break on Saturday (same).  With so many fast food options close by to the campus, this is the best way for students to eat.  We have offered concession in the past but it was not beneficial so we will not be doing that this year.  For the judges, we will provide dinner Friday and breakfast foods and lunch Saturday as well as snacks throughout the day in the Lounge.

Remember we will be following the COVID Protocol for this event and you may access that information on the tab on the right side of this page.

For Congress we will use the D3 Spring Packet linked on the tabroom page.  Schools not in D3 may submit up to 2 pieces of legislation (using the correct template) and they must be submitted by Monday, January 24th, at 5:00 pm MST.  Any pieces submitted meeting the standard will be emailed out to teams by Wednesday, January 26th at 5:00 pm MST.  They will be added to the Prelim packet.  WE WILL NOT BE USING THE FINAL LEGISLATION PACKET FOR THIS EVENT.

For LD, we will use the January/February NSDA topic.  In PF, we will use the February NSDA topic.  For policy we will use the 2021-22 national topic.

See the tournament invitation for more detail (linked on the right side of the page).

Hope to see you in early February for this important opportunity to practice before NSDA Nat Quals as well as district debate and district speech.

Please contact me with any questions!  Thanks and we look forward to seeing you at NHS on the 4th!
