MILLARD WEST GOLD DEBATE TOURNAMENT

Dear Debate Coach,

The Millard West Debate Team cordially invites you to join us at the first GOLD Tournament of the 2021-2022 competitive season to be held on Friday November 12th, 2021. 

EVENTS

Lincoln-Douglas Debate – We will be using the November/December topic 

Public Forum Debate – We will use the November/December Topic. 

Policy--We will use the NFHS Annual Topic

Congressional Debate--Hali Tripe will contact you about legislation, etc.

ENTRIES AND FEES

As per GOLD rules, students may not double enter, and the competitor must be in his/her first year of debate competition.  Because Millard West is hosting both speech and debate, please adhere to the entry guidelines so we will have enough rooms available for competition. There are no fees, as those are a part of your dues.

Please report any drops by noon on Thursday Nov. 11th   There will be NO adds the day of the tournament, unless there is room in a particular event.

JUDGES

You must provide one qualified judge for every 2 LD debaters, one for every two policy teams, and one for every two public forum teams.   Please try to cover as many judges as possible.  Judges may be knowledgeable varsity members.

AWARDS

A first, second, and third place award will be presented in each event and medals will be awarded to fourth through sixth place.
