GGSA Novice Tournament

2021 — NSDA Campus, CA/US

**Cancelled**

Welcome to the GGSA Novice Tournament

We are pleased to offer this opportunity for our member schools this spring. The tournament will take place during the Coach's Meeting on Saturday 5/8/21 on the NSDA Campus platform. We will start rounds at 9:00 a.m. and the tournament will conclude after 3 rounds. Check back for an updated schedule.

Why attend?

Novice students gain a chance to compete once more this season

Varsity students gain valuable experience judging and providing helpful feedback

GGSA coaches gain experience in learning how tabroom.com operates in a low stakes, relaxed tournament

Coaches

We'll have two work sessions where you can learn more about the pre-tournament set up.

Wednesday, 5/5, 7:00 p.m. - Judge set up. We'll assign judges to pools and strike out times and other conflicts.

Friday, 5/7, 6:00 p.m. - Tournament set up. We'll assign rooms, panel prelims, assign judges and get ready for the morning!

Judges

Our expectation is that all coaches will prepare their varsity students to judge. Remind them how to provide constructive and helpful comments that lift up our novice students and help them be excited to compete next year.

For your varsity student judges, please indicate if they have any constraints regarding time. The tournament does fall in a busy time of the year for our students and we hope to be able to have them join us, if even for part of the day. Of course, we'd love to have full day judges.

If we have enough judges, we will single flight the debate rounds; otherwise we will need to double flight.
