International Debates at the Harvard College Debating Union

Welcome!
We are very excited to announce the inaugural International Debates at the Harvard College Debating Union. This will be a round robin style event consisting of national teams attending WSDC. The dates are May 29th-31st.
We are excited to offer a high quality CAP, high quality judges, and high quality competition. The schedule, number of prelims, and pods will be determined by the number of applications (we expect to accept between seven and twelve teams).
Applications are open here! They are due by May 1st, at midnight eastern time.

Tournament Updates:
Schedule and Judging:
Judge policy: Please have at least two judges available for at least five time slots each in which you are not the only round in that time slot. You can fill this any way you would like as long as you provide 10 rounds of judging - you could use two, three, or ten judges. Distinct time slots are in grey. Email us with clarifications! The only real requirement is that you fill ten total time slots.
Tournament Information:
Application Procedure:
1. Any team wanting to apply must be the national representative team of their country at the 2021 WSDC tournament.
2. Please fill out the form linked above to apply to the tournament. If selected, will receive an email confirming your attendance and then you must register your team for the tournament through tabroom.
Competition Rules:
The format will be World Schools Debating Championships style. All rules and formats on tournament procedure not explicitly stated will follow the WSDC handbook.
Judging will be WSDC-style (independent ballots).
Motions will be impromptu.
Logistics:
We will operate Harvard-provided zoom rooms for prep rooms and competition.
