 YFL STATE QUALS

1) Each competitor, observer, and judge MUST HAVE A LINKED TABROOM ACCOUNT. For instructions on creating and linking Tabroom accounts, click here.

2) Competitors are allowed to double enter in speech. The only combination of speech that is not allowed is entering in both exemps.

3) Each school will owe 1 judge per 6 speech entries in each speech pattern (asynchronous and synchronous) and 1 judge per 2 entries in the debate pattern. Judges can (and should, if possible!) be entered in both the speech pattern and the debate pattern. This means that 1 judge can potentially cover 12 speech entries (6 live, 6 recorded) and 2 debate entries. Please ensure that if a judge cannot be present for the entirety of the event, you mark them as partially available. A judge who is partially available only counts for half of a judge, as far as judging requirements go. If you have a judge who is only partially available, please make sure you find another judge to cover the time that judge will not be present.

4) Pre-recorded speech will need to be uploaded as an unlisted video on Youtube and submitted by Monday 02/22 at the VERY latest. Please ensure that the student states the tournament the speech was recorded for at the beginning of the video (YFL State Quals) and includes the tournament name in the title. Topics will be announced via Tabroom blasts (please sign up for live updates to receive these!!) and Google Docs. Please check the Google Doc frequently and keep an eye out for blasts from Tabroom to ensure that you do not miss out on your prep time.
