IF the coach of record, is NOT going to be attending the tournament, you must send either an employee representing your school and have them check in your team at the beginning of the tournament or
IF the coach of record is sending a volunteer and/or parent to care for their team – The chaperone MUST have a letter from your school, signed by the school principal indicating the that adult in charge is the official "chaperone" of the team for the tournament. The letter must be turned in to the tournament director prior to the beginning of the tournament.
Failure to do so may result in that school’s student(s) not being allowed to compete.
WHOMEVER you put in charge of the team should have the student emergency medical forms / permission slips / parent contact forms for their team.
Protect your students, yourself and your "representative".
Make sure that you have enough judges at the tournament. School’s failing to provide the proper number of judges may have some of their entries dropped.
VARSITY STUDENTS MAY NOT JUDGE at this tournament. Adult judges are required
BE SURE TO ENTER JUDGES -- DO NOT ENTER STUDENTS UNTIL YOUR JUDGES ARE CONFIRMED
Round 1: 1st speaker speaks at 8am
Round 2: 1st speaker speaks at 10am
Round 3: 1st speaker speaks at 12pm
Finals: 1st speaker speaks at 3pm
Duo students should record themselves and upload their video either to a dropbox, an unpublished YouTube site or a google drive.
Duos must have a two camera / split frame set up in observance of the LA County Dept. of Health guidelines - even if duo partners live in the same house.
One, OR both of the two duo members should go to the scheduled room for each round.
When it is time for a particular duo to perform, one member of the duo will put the link to their duo recording in the chat box. The entire round can then click on the link and individually watch the performance.
It is suggested that during the watching of the individual duos, because of bandwidth and overheating, performers turn off their cameras and mute themselves while watching the individual performances.
When the speech has concluded, the competitors can turn on their video as a signal to move on to the next performance.
Recorded Interp and Recorded Platform procedures
Students will record themselves before December 7th and post the video to a google drive or an unpublished youtube site. The link to the recording must be uploaded as part of their entry by Monday, December 7th.
Judges in the event will have those links on their ballots.
No students will attend Recorded Platform or Recorded Interp rounds
