Welcome to the DOGFIGHT! This tournament is a NSDA points grab, students can double or triple enter in-person events at their own risk. Students can enter as many asynchronous events as they would like!

In-Person:

Debate Events:

Policy, Lincoln Douglas, Public Forum, Congress, Big Questions

Speech Events:

Impromptu, Spar, Oratory, Foreign and National Extempt, Interps (HI, DI, DUO, POI)

Asynchronous Events:

Informative, Declamation, Freedom Speech, After Dinner Speech, Lip Sync, and Logical Fallacy's

Logical Fallacy Speech:This is a new asynch speech event that we are trying out. For this event students will prepare a 5 minute speech using as many of the following logical fallacies as they can. The logical fallacies judges will be looking for include; ad hominem, red herring, straw man, appeal to authority, bandwagon, false dilemma, correlation/causation, and anecdotal evidence fallacies. Judging will be based on two aspects, (1) how entertaining your speech was overall (and yes these will get crazy and funny), (2) how many logical fallacies from the list above were used. This event is meant to be fun and entertaining. Please pick simple yet way-out-there topics, for example: Birds don't exist.
