Phoenix Big Questions Invitational

We’re excited to be able to offer a chance to compete in Big Questions again thanks to the Spring round of funding for the event. Information about the tournament is below, please feel free to contact Celine (541) 535-2306 with any questions or issues that might come up. We are excited to host another event this year and look forward to having you!

Registration

All registration will be online at http://phoenixsd.tabroom.com. The deadline for adds is Monday, May 6th by 5:00pm, and drops can be processed until Wednesday, May 8th. Judge entries are due by the 10th at 5:00pm.

If you need to make changes after this time, please text Celine Farrimond at 541-535-2305 with your school, the name of the student, and event details. You should also notify tournament staff of any changes upon arrival.

Big Questions & Entries

We will be offering 3 guaranteed rounds of Big Questions debate with Semis and Finals to follow. We have allowed for hybrid entries in the event, if there is anyone who is interested in compiling a 2 school entry. As you’ll see below there are no school fees.

We are allowing students/teams to make their own codes! No school letter will be assigned, just keep it school appropriate.

Tournament Fees

We will not be charging a school fee, and entry fees will be $5 per entry (maverick/single or 2 person team). We are hosting this as a fundraiser for our team to attend Nationals this year. Thank you for your support!

Judges

We are asking for 1 judge for every 2 entries. If you are able to bring judges beyond your requirement, we would really appreciate it! We will provide judge training in the morning for newer judges and a refresher for our more experienced folks. We will provide coffee/pastries in the morning and lunch for judges.

7:30-8:30am - Registration and judge training (begin at 8:00am)

8:30-9:30am - Round 1

9:30-10:30am - Round 2

10:30-11:30am - Round 3

11:30-12:30pm - LUNCH

12:30-1:30pm - Semifinals

1:30-2:30pm - Finals

3:00pm - Awards
