Events: Congressional Debate only. No entry limit. Coaches’ meeting will be held in Room 217 starting at 10:30 A.M.

Cost: $10.00 per student, including tournament entry and lunch (regular or vegetarian). $6.00 hospitality/lunch fee for all judges and observers (coaches’ lunches are at no charge).

Judging requirements: One (1) judge for every five (5) Congress entries or fraction thereof. During Session 2, seniors with at least 250 NSDA points on record will be allowed to serve as judges. COACHES: Please do NOT count yourself in your judge quota!

 

REGISTRATION FOR THE TOURNAMENT

Download the Registration Form from this site. Fill it out, save it as a Microsoft Word document, and send it to both Jennifer Bell <JCBell764@gmail.com> and Josh Schneider <joshschneider@me.com> as an attachment. Please register no later than 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 4.

Meeting RSVP: Coaches who are attending the meeting but whose students are not competing should inform Jennifer Bell <JCBell764@gmail.com> and Dr. Terri St. John <TessSpeak@aol.com> by September 4.

Changes: Please e-mail drops and other changes to Jennifer Bell and Josh Schneider at the addresses above. Chamber assignments will not be modified and fees will not be reduced after the close of registration.

Tournament Day check-in: 8:00–8:15 in Room 308. Only the team coach or designated adult should process through the registration line. Students should report to the Cafeteria. Teachers should report to the Teachers’ Cafeteria.

 

LEGISLATION REQUIREMENTS

Every participating school must supply at least one (1) piece of satisfactory legislation per chamber in which it has students. Legislation must be written using the templates posted on the FGCCFL Congress website <https://www.fgccfl.net/congress/> and should include the sponsor’s name and school.

Submission procedure: Coaches ONLY may send their legislation as a Microsoft Word attachment to Josh Schneider <joshschneider@me.com> by 9:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 30. Late, frivolous, stale, or unsatisfactory legislation will not be considered. The legislative docket will be published on Friday evening, allowing students a week to prepare.

(RECOMMENDED: Coaches who would like Josh to review their students’ legislation before it is submitted may e-mail it to him in Microsoft Word format no later than Monday, August 27.)
