Novice Dramatic Interpretation

Event Description:

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Speaker(s) deliver a scripted speech from a published work of fiction, prose or poetry, one that is meant to be dramatic.

2. Speaker(s) must include an Introduction — it need not be memorized but it is included in the time limit.

3. Body movements are limited to a one-step radius; gestures should be “restrained,” not overly theatrical.

5. Speaker(s) should be marked down one place in the round if they exceed the 8:30 time limit; no minimum time limit.
