Event Description:
Contestants will act in the role of press officers and be presented with factual scenarios to which they need to respond on behalf of their employer/client. The scenarios for the day will be distributed to the competitors the morning of the tournament. Each competitor will be given a maximum of four minutes to present his or her statement. At the conclusion of the four minutes, the contestant will be questioned for three minutes by a person acting in the role of a reporter, who will not have seen the written scenario and is questioning based solely on the competitor’s statement. The competitor will be judged by a judge who has seen the written scenario based upon honesty and how well the competitor served the interests of his or her employer/client. Double entry is permitted. All rounds of the event will be held at the E. L Meyers High School.
