Event Description:
Definition & General Rules: The contestant will take no less than 5 and no more than 10 minutes (with a 30 second grace period), including introduction, to present from memory all or part of an oration delivered by some real, not fictional, person other than himself. “Speeches” delivered by characters in fiction or plays are prohibited. In the introduction of the oration, the speaker must NAME THE AUTHOR of the selection, the TIME and the PLACE of its original presentation.
