Novice Duo Interpretation

Event Description:

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Two speakers deliver a scripted speech from published work of fiction, prose or poetry, humorous or dramatic.

2. Speakers must include an Introduction — it need not be memorized but it is included in the time limit.

3. Body movements are limited to a one-step radius; gestures should be “restrained,” not overly theatrical.

4. In Duo speeches, speakers cannot look directly at each other during the scripted portion of the presentation.

5. Speakers should be marked down one place in the round if they exceed the 8:30 time limit.
